I wish we could lay off or fire the entire government, without a severance or retirement. that way they know what its like. I have a prius 50 mpg, the best car i ever had, just wish they would make a pickup truck with this drivetrain. peace

The freedom to choose must be non-exclusive, or it's not really a free choice. If your choices are limitted because of greed and corruption (oil companies and dirty politicians) than how can it be a true choice? My choices are already limitted by $. Just bought a new car that's gas efficient, reliable, good re-sale value, and is within my budget. It's neither of the big three automakers. Never considered them. I wish I had the choice of an EV though.Could've changed my mind. 2 little 2 late GM.

GM is closing down the Saturn line for good so the Saturn dealers will definately close. GM is also discontinuing the Hummer H3

And I Quote (GM made a commitment to the HUMMER because they could see that the hummer would make them money) Tom Everheart. All we can do no is sit back and watch as GM falls and begs for a bailout.

We'd just like the right to purchase a plug-in car on the open market, we don't want to stop hummer sales! The fact is, they spend our money on rebates for hummers, they could use our money to build EVs.

People should be able to buy whatever car they want to. If you want to buy a Smart Car, then buy one. If I want a Lambo (I wish) then I should be able to buy one. I the next guy wants a Hummer then 'good for him'. The East German Communists developed the Trabbi and Adolf gave us the VW beetle. Freedom gave us the Hummer and the Prius and the Lamborghini Gallardo.
There is a strong connection between Green and Red these days. Be careful what you wish for.

I've had a look at the Lamborghini's MPG and quite a few of them say at least 8 miles, not 4. Sports car are almost as bad as SUV's in my book. They cost too much, their mileage isn't worth the price tag and they don't make very good everyday cars. Can you get 2 weeks worth of shopping into a Lambo?
What I meant is that people should spend more money buying vehicles that go further, instead of buying costly SUV's which cost way too much to run and don't get the same mileage as a small car.
-
you are one of the most stupid people on earth. dumbass thats like saying why would you spend 300g on a lamborghini which is a car that gets like litterly 4 fucking miles to the gallon
-
Nobody wants to buy a car that costs a lot of money to run!
lol the hummer dealership is gone? nice! replace that ol' lot with an electric vehicle lot or some electric conversion shop and that would be awesome

I agree with you to a certain point, but I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that in this rotten ass economy if you are someone who just got laid off of your job you would probably not be in the market to purchase a new car be it BEV or ICE. People just can't afford car notes these days. I have a stong feeling that EV sales would be slumping too, maybe not as bad as ICE vehicles but bad economic times affects eveyone and everything. I do agree that we should have more EV choices though.
