here's a treat to all those who knew this kind of fish ( dalag/bulig or mudfish)it's mostly found in fresh water swamps or in the knee deep water usually hibernating under mud during dry season and surpassed when the first rainfall comes and the swamps filled with fresh rain water!

normally cooked either as roast in some provinces (particularly in the northern part of the country, made in tamarind soup with vegetables like water spinach,or young chilli leaves(dahung sile)my mother used to cooked this one with young banana (saba)or with banana flower(puso ng saging)she prepared this also as in PESANG DALAG way back when we are kid during New Year's eve (Media Noche)

Commonly known as BULIG in our area, its worth P150.00 a kilo in a passerby fish sellers!

Catching with bait hook (umang or patukba) or a small battery conductor stick to make the fish electro-shock and unconcious for a couple of minutes!

thanks for viewing and hope in the simplest way of it,you can relate on what some kababayans missed out there!

cheers to yah!
