Graduating senior and Christian rapper Joe Melendrez used burritos to spread the University of Dayton's Catholic, Marianist mission. It's a modern-day loaves and fishes parable.
Melendrez won a local Chipotle contest and used his winnings — more than 1,300 burritos — to talk about faith and life with students, faculty and even the homeless.
Melendrez is involved in many creative endeavors: He is promoting his new CD, Rosary Rap, by traveling to parishes around the country. He started a television show on Flyer TV called Can You Dance?, which raised money to help students perform service projects in other countries.
Mr.Melendrez is truly an inspiration. Keep on spreading the word about the Holy Spirit Mr.M!
