A spoken word piece addressing the way trans women's voices are silenced through "accusations" of male privilege. This was written in response to an individual incident, but is really about the misogyny and sexism directed at trans women advocating for inclusion within women's spaces in general.

Not that I need to prove myself, but as a woman who grew up at my moms' feminist newspaper, who was a part of her high school women's student union, won an award for a presentation on comparative forms of feminist analysis in high school, who has a women studies degree, writes for feminist anthologies, gets paid for to talk on feminism, has won a feminist filmmaker award, and more that wont fit - your accusation that I don't understand the female struggle feels ridiculous

Did you watch the video? Or even read the title? I'm ranting against misogyny, or more specifically, I'm ranting against a man who is being sexist. Not ranting against feminists, not bashing feminists. I am a feminist, born and raised.

  • hi dude, waz up?

  • @Nodesignation I got the point you were making in the video, & I agree. (Also, I've met women who identify as "feminist", but practice misogyny like it is going out of style!) I've seen feminists who state that certain types of women shouldn't be allowed to breed, or that only born women "count" as "women", or they'll blame the victim in cases of rape/molestation, etc.

Misogyny is ugly, no matter who it comes from. Men of any kind, or cis-women.

    Your vid was great.

  • you just did tell women to shut up. Ranting against feminism is ranting against female struggle, which you don't know anything about, otherwise you wouldn't of made this ridiculous video bashing feminists.

  • Hear hear!

  • Great piece! Though I'm the kind of womon who will totally give her gyrlfriend a blowjob after work. [/TMI]

He's not really saying that cis womyn are more privileged, just, and this is something the 2001 census data will show, as well as numerous case studies: Womyn are made sex objects, and men are made success objects.

Womyn earn more per hour, for equal work, with equally stable incomes, with equally long commutes, exposure to the elements, hours, overtime, stress, fulfillment, fatalities, etc. and are smart enough to work less. We just rarely control for all these factors.

  • @universalJok3r

your right that cisgendered women oppress trans women.

however, its not fair to say that cis woman are more privileged than men.

  • yeah transwomyn pretty much gave up that male privledge to be who we are. glad theres someone out there who gets this u kno, right on sister.
