  • General Zod as Brigham Young....EPIC!!!

KNEEL BEFORE BRIGHAM YOUNG!!! OR DIE BY MY EYE LASERS!!!

  • Yes, the mormon faith has lead many good loving people into eternal damnation. There are so many things wrong with it. I could write an entire series of books as to why. Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other prophets have targeted the Holy Bible. They have changed it, blasphemed it, and called God himself an unholy thing. May your eyes and ears be opened. The Bible is all you need to know, trust God not men.

  • @myway43 probably some guys with the same intentions joseph smith had when he wrote the book of MORmON. virgin births, talking snakes, races cursed by god with dark skin, lost tribes of isreal. All bullshit its just easier to make fun of the Book of MORmON cause we actually KNOW who wrote it. the bible is much older and harder to trace the writer/writers

  • I can't believe they named a school after this guy

  • @angelawwjd Who wrote the Bible?

  • @Sampiro

You are a self-styled historian, then??

NOTE: The "big screen" is almost ALWAYS the medium for taking drama and adding (not subtracting) more drama, to it. It is only when something is played out "to the max" that people finally begin to "get it".

Look at the period photos of that jackass, Brigham Young. He IS the face of a seething fundamentalist extremist: whether or not he is directly culpable, in the Massacre. Young demanded obedience and conformity: that was his Utah.

CORRECTION: "Church-approved Journal of Discourses" (or, JoD)

  • When one reads the "Church -approved Journal of Discourse" (which were the official church "publications" of that time period, and bound into large, thick volumes), one sees the fanaticism of Brigham Young.

Brigham Young was quoted as being so incensed, over the counterfeiting that was taking place, in Salt Lake City, that he spewed out vitriol, against those "thieves". He preached BLOOD ATONEMENT, as their just punishment.

B.Y. was a nasty, fundamentalist fanatic.

  • @orlovna2

CORRECTION: I should have said "Islamist Extremism", instead. (Because most Muslims are very devout and "fundamental"; but, not all of them are "extreme")

  • @MeritisDE

I think that maybe you have it, there: in a nutshell. Now, all that is needed is to overlay the Fundamentalist Polygamist Bent, right over the top of that Puritan uptight nature, before combining it with Islamist Fundamentalism.

    Mormons! Do your duty!

  • @teddereem

Brigham had ALL POWER, in the Territory known as Utah, in 1857. He was Supreme Religious Head (and prophet) of the Mormon Church AND he was Governor of Utah Territory, at the selfsame time.

Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely!

    AMEN!

  • Shed my Blood, that I may be exalted, among the Gods!

(Well, there you are! Brigham Young's own "Blood Atonement Doctrine": played out, on the Big Screen)

Brigham Young was one bleeping religious fanatic: where he used his religion, to rationalize murder.

And, modern-day mormons continue to use rationalization as a way of life: to rationalize away the sins of their own progenitors (they even erected a statue to the memory of John D. Lee, in his home town, & thus make of him a heroe)
