  • If you've ever caught a train from Ueno at 8.30am, you'll know all about suffering... especially in the middle of summer. But I'd rather that than the Sydney trains. Sydney trains are awful. The platforms are filthy, even if they're 10 minutes late they say they're on time. Re: the kimono, I think there must have been a special event, maybe a festival, because you don't usually see that many. You still see them but it's usually older people and even then only 3 or 4 a day.
