This is not the most exciting video on Youtube. It is a bit long. However, if you can get through it, you'll get a lesson in leadership. Major David E. Sutherland describes how commanders who have control over personnel from other units can ride those other personnel without having to worry about motivation. When they have command AND control, they might treat the personnel differently. I have seen this same phenomenon in my civilian career. I already knew about these aspects of leadership from being raised by the Major.
