The female in this video has been dancing for many many years and competes in the NSDC. She is marvelous dancer!! The reason the male shines in this dance is because Shag is a male dominated dance! :)

and besides, besides doing side by side patterns, shag is mostly a guy spotlighted dance

well i think he's a higher shag dancer and u must remember he's a multi NSDC champion so his footwork is pretty much fancier

Why is it only him shining through the whole dance? Is he because he is not giving any space at all for the lady to do anything, or is he a much higher level dancer? She uses almost no non-standard footworks and he makes all the more advanced spins himself, for example.
