To my parents:
I prepared this speech for you today to say thank-you. Thank you for all of the love and guidance you have given me over the years. Thank you for always being there for me through the good times and the bad. You taught me many things including how to ride a bike, how to tie my shoes, how to treat people, and even how to hit a baseball. But most importantly you taught me how to be me. You shaped me from a shy young boy to a confident young man. Without your love and guidance I would not be the same person that I am today. I cannot begin to explain how thankful I am for all of your time and dedication you have invested into making me who I am. The countless hours of taking me places, picking me up from practice, making my lunch for school, are just some of the little things that make the biggest difference.
Mom:
You taught me how to show love and affection to something you really care about. You also taught me how to treat new people that I may meet. You taught me to offer a helping hand to a stranger in need. You also taught me how to stay truthful, and to never lie to get out of a situation. The values you have passed on to me while remain with me forever.
Dad:
You taught me that hard work and dedication pays off. If you invest enough time into something, your rewards will be great. You also have passed on to me the love of sports. You introduced sports to me at a young age, and taught me everything I need to know on how to play the best that I can play. With sports, you told me that it doesnt matter how good you perform, as long as you are having fun and enjoy what you are doing winning or losing does not matter.
In Closing:
The values you have taught me will remain with me for the rest of my life. I plan on passing these values to my children someday. As I end this speech, I would just like to say thank-you for everything you have done for me up to this point in my life. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for how you have raised me.
Thank you Mom and Dad
