DO NOT WANT

My pet red fox Ron does NOT like the fur brush! Though he'd finish shedding that bothersome winter coat much sooner if he'd let me xD

Ron is a pet red fox I bought from a licensed exotic animal breeder, in Oklahoma, captive-bred and hand-raised. My state of Arkansas allows pet foxes without any permit needed.
He enjoys a large outdoor habitat and also a small indoor caged spot in my living room. Foxes are said to make 'bad' pets, but I would rather say foxes make wonderful pets!... just rather destructive, moody pets, NOT FOR CHILDREN.

Does Ron scream? I have Wild Red Foxes come in my yard at night and they scream they sound like a womans being stabbed to death. And I know there not Coyotes because I heard Coyotes howling at night as well and they tend to yap. This is a bloody murder scream lol and I think there Foxes cause I seen videos of them screaming making the same sound.

He has never screamed like those video or audio files I have listened to... maybe because since he's 'safe' from predators and he's not interacting with other foxes....

@TheCajunGambit1 chuckle - I live in London, UK, no Coyotes here....at least I hope not!! Just loads and loads of foxes. Can't walk around in the evening without coming across several ones. They are cute though and generally not dangerous, as we do not have rabies in this country. They are also rather shy and tend to run away when one comes closer. But they do scream up and down the road during mating season. It doesn't help that the cats have their mating season during the same time....

@MsMoople I haven't seen any Foxes by me in a while but i've been hearing Coyotes yapping or howling every night. I wonder if the Coyotes killed the Foxes or chased them away and took over their territory.

@TheCajunGambit1 we have wild foxes here in town (red) and yes, the screaming is rather scary, isn't it - I always wait for the tell-tale bark that usually follows the scream to see if I need to call the police or not.

Sadly, our wild foxes are very shy and don't look half as healthy as RonRon....

Try a de-shedding brush like the 'Furminator' it's less harsh on there skin, he was fine with it until you scratched the more fragile skin on his leg.
