I am an ELCA Lutheran. This is to all denominations: If 1 Timothy 2:1-6 and/or 1 Timothy 3:14-16 is your Scripture of the Day, this hymn, We All Believe in One True God, is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture. The lyrics are by Martin Luther, 1483-1546, and is set to the tune, WIR GLAUBEN ALL, a Latin Credo from around 1300.

Fine playing, fine sound! As you suggest in your comments about area Schlickers, their tonal quality seems to vary enormously. This is obviously one of the good ones! The acoustics make a huge difference, too, I'm sure.
Thanks for posting!

when is the tour video of this great instrument? Schlicker organs are the best. At our church we have a 52 Rank Schlicker 3 man. with some 2,666 pipes

Your technique is flawless.

That's a tall order; and besides, which one (542 or 578)? What d'ya say Paul?!

Church? Funny, I thought it was a PizzaHut...
This is absolutely exquisite playing. If I might say so, I think Bach would be very proud!

There are about 5-7 Schlicker organs in the Baltimore area. Two of them are very nice, including this one, a 3 manual which is not all that bad -- but in a rather dry room, a two manual at a local college (the organ case is on wheels, believe it or not) -- which is the pits, and another 2 manual in a local church in Northern Baltimore County that should be put out of it's misery!

Once in a while I practice on a smiliar Shlicker in East Lansing, a 3 manual affiar, with the same setup as this, 2 rows of "coupler" style stops above the keyboard. Unfortunately, that instrument has to be one of the worst organs I have ever come in contact with. The location of pipes and the voicing (or lack there of) kills the instrument, as well as the POOR registration. Glad to see theres a Shlicker worth seeing out there!

I certainly do hear what you are saying! I have played Schlicker organs that are absolutely in horrendous room situations and strident voicing!

That's a wonderful performance! Maybe someday I'll visit this church (St. Jude Shrine in Baltimore) and attend one of its Masses on one of my vacations!
