@joylaval hmm maybe you need more then ten years to do taijiquan in effectfull martial way, but it is really terrific if you oncé learned it. i can say by getting thrown by my master in a very effortless way and by small natural movements.

That's not pushing, that's the weak version of the Jin of Tai Chi.
Yi quan is similar with Tai Chi, and kinda of quick changable version of Tai Chi, very suitable for those who haven't patient with slow moves.
China old sayings: three years Yi practicer can beat u to death but 10 years Tai Chi practicer cannot walk out of door.(coz they always beat by other fighters.)
however, most of martial artist agree that Tai Chi is one of the highest KongFu.
btw, I am from China. correct me if wrong.

looks like a amazing and lethal style

I know that this is a 2 year ago response but, the one in punch involves pushing. To say pushing is wrong in combat is to say the one inch punch is wrong, which is to say that Bruce Lee was wrong. Whatever wins the fight.

we can't just summarize "something" shall not be done in street fight. I think real fighting shall be unlimited. while making people off balance then hit them with quick kick is really damaging!
-
why? pushing is not a punch... but it still fighting.. like if i say, grabing is wrong in a fight...

very nice video!

when go in the normal street for training is impossible push at normal power because the people fly under the car or over somtihngin teh street and is very danger. but the pushis only a traing for the power in the punch, when you wanna go at maximun power go with the push not the punch because is dangerus, in real fighting for live or death is possible. come here and listen the force of the master dont lose time with other martial arts

i'm in the beijing academy and the first month you know evry wall in the gym with the face and this is painfull, trust me.

that's the point! Poeple says "you cannot push in a real fight" but in a real fight you re not alone in a romm with your oponent... you have the all around... And if i m not wrong, in yi quan you learn to be aware of this...
No, you just don't understand what it represents. It was tested in actual fighting (when Yao Zongxun and friends were fighting with street gangs in 1940s). It's projecting opponent, so he hits a wall or some hard and dangerous object with his body, pushing him so he falls from stairs, or pushing him over ballustrade, over bench etc.
