This film shows a vintage 1965 Fender Band Master and how an previous owner moved the Intensity pot from the front panel face to the back of the amp, in order to make room for a 2nd input gain in the Vibrato channel, creating an overdrive effect. Since the previous position of the Intensity pot currently controls this 2nd gain function on the Vibrato inputs, we can tell from the sound that the intention was to create more of an Overdrive sound on the Vibrato inputs. Part 1 of the video series shows how the Vibrato still works and where the knobs are located. Part 2 of the video series, shows the difference of both the Normal inputs and the Vibrato inputs, and how the overdrive takes effect. I've been told that this was probably done to get the effect of a Fender Twin.
@MrSandydillon +1 on the bad mod, maybe it sound's different live, but it sure sucked on youtube, or and I have owned 3 old twins & I have never had one that sounded like that mind, twins start to break up very late on, they are know for their clean headroom, so who ever said they have overdrive early on is talking BS, most SF twins break up around 7-8, I had a blackface that broke up at around 6, but getting it on 6 in a club was impossible, it certainly never had it below 6 like this mod
