Nice video and comments on your equipment. Sorry to hear about the detector not finding gold. It doesn't really surprise me because sellers of detectors don't explain the reality of detecting. That's been my main hobby for many years and I love it but the only thing I use my gold detector for is searching for ancient coins on fields in Europe. I did find a gold ring once in a river with my underwater detector, but no nuggets. For placer gold I stick to a sluice and associated equipment. :)

If you want to move alot of material you would want to have a proline dredge it can move up to 12 yards an hour where as a Keene can move only 5 yards an hour with the same gold recovery and as you know moving material is the name of the game

By the way how did you do up at gatesville I met you up there about 3 weeks ago when you were waiting on your guide. I ended up with 3+ grains from that little hole under that tree on that inside corner. and thanks for the duct tape!!

gary, sometimes it pays to be invisible, or at last to just blend in.

prospectin's my hobby, im a musician by trade.
i havent got rich in my gold travels, but i try to make sure everyone else i meet has a good day...

i used a 5 inch keene for a year and got tired of workin myself to death, so opted back down for the 4 incher..much less work
as for the 12 yards per hour...only proline would say so...physics would say otherwise...
thats a crapload of material for any dredge

as a rule, heat rises,carbon monoxide settles lower.i figure, why argue with underwriters laboratory...they get paid to figure these things out.technicaly, if you wish to argue the point, exhaust is heavier than air, and somewhat more dense, so it would sink, and collect near the water..thats why when your dredging, and come up to look in your sluicebox, you get all those nice fumes in your face.gold mining equipment,whatever price...15 years as a medic,9 years as a hazmat technician,priceless
