This is a basic, but a fine report on the potential developments in the Iranian region of influence. Both Kaplan and George Friedman hit the nail right on the head when they proclaim that it is in nobody's interest to wage any war with Iran. In fact, that peace is crucial.
They both highlight that within a decade Tehran might thaw to Washington in relations closer than that of Riyadh. This is a correct estimation as Iran is undergoing a slow, but steady liberalization process.
