@CTTRACK if a ref calls that a charge it would be a mercy call. interference yeah probably.

i agree with rob8910, very clean hit, but just a bit late, and no charge at all, downie glided from the blue line, so it can't be a charge you fucking dumbass

Downie's hit was not a cheap shot, it was a clean hit, but it MAY have been about 1/2 second too late. Get over it. Now, if you want to see a cheap shot, check out Malkin's cowardly elbow to Briers's head, or Malkin's 2 most cowardly and dangerous slew-foots against the Rangers.
Of course none of these were called because pussies rule in the NHL. In the old days Malkin would have to be carried off the ice after doing something like that, now he can play "tough guy" while hiding behind the refs.
