How to use the dos Ping command to test your connection to your router and the internet. This is what most ISP's will get you to do to determine where faults may be.

  • @Emforever123 The devices showing Media Disconnected are the wireless adapters which weren't connected during the video to make it simpler to follow, otherwise you'd see two sets of IP Addresses, both with the same subnet and gateway, but with different IP Addresses - 1 for wired and one for wiles

  • @limas1214 Firstly what operating system are you on? xp, Windows Vista, 7 etc... as it sounds like you have a static IP address assigned to your computer, and this would need to be changed so that your device picks one up from your router

  • it shows that I have signal but no internet access , it shows my ip address and my default gateway ,,I did everything but when I put ping and my ip address it doesn't it says timed out and 100% loss --help

  • @IPhoeniixI This generally means that someone has statically assigned an IP address in you Adapter Settings. If you require some elaboration please get in touch

  • It doesnt show that i have a default gateway :(

  • Why does it days Media Disconnected after using the ipconfig command on your computer?
