I still haven't found a video more poignant or pertinent than this on the whole of YouTube.
After many viewings, I still get watery eyed.

the only thing that pisses me off & it has done for several years now is the fact so few people have taken the time to listen to this song & WATCH the video . I think it"s disturbing that people watch absoloute crap & here is the true poignancy of life being ignored by so many it saddens me great job bye Paul Weller & what a video .I keep returning to this video year in year out it keeps me grateful for what i have but so sad for what so many lost !!!!.

When he played this live I was blown away, shame that Steve White isn't with him anymore!

@highvibration After reading Nasty Shags ankle-deep comment I was going to respond with almost your exact same words. This powerful song and partnered video epitomizes an unmistakable facet of the human condition. Great work.

Paul played this in Sherwood Forest one rainy summer night, June 26, 2005. Do you remember, My Darling?.

@Shagnarsty I agree but if the lyrics are apt and it's been adopted because of that then fair enough.. Great song in it's own right and if people take comfort in that then all the better in my opinion

Thanks, I like what you did, the song and the imagery make sense for me 'now nothing feels the same way...'

yeah 911 was pretty bad but please dont use the best british man to ever live in an american video no offence R.I.P 911 Victims

@MrTeamTactical I understand your sentiment, but Weller took this little video on tour with him during his 22 Dreams tour. He thought it was bloody brilliant..doesn't matter where we are in the world, we are the same. Written for the Bosnia conflict, but his words live in all countries all men.

Sorry but I just don't get the idea of a British icon's song backing a set of American Tradegys, sad as they may be this song has fu*k all to do with 911 or JFK etc...
Nuff sed.

@Shagnarsty This song was written for the Bosnia conflict..but as Weller said himself the song has to do with the senselessness of war/violence. Doesn't matter if it takes place in Europe, America, Asia etc...the feelings expressed in this powerful song are for all of mankind.

I still regard this song as Paul's 'Flagship of the fleet', and THIS is 'the' video that shall ALWAYS complement it.

@whirlpoolzend Thank you! Somedays I don't want to get up, the world is such a _ucking mess. Then I hear a song that shows the beauty and potential of human beings, I missed Weller this time around in LA, my head was not there but my soul
was.
