Yes, we do have to get population under control. However, even with the current population, if the "developed world" learned to live more sustainabiy, we could reduce our negative impact on Earth & its resources. And that does mean changing how much of what foods we eat, and altering our transportation and energy choices. If humanity is going to survive in any numbers over the next 100-200 years, this is part of how it will happen.

I honor the commitment behind this but it is, in my view, completely misguided. The decline of oil production means that the world financial system, currently in intensive care, will collapse because all the debt on the books — individual, business and sovereign, will never be paid back. This is also known as "petrocollapse." A much better use of effort and time is the Transition Movement. See transitionus (dot) org

This video is not talking about the most important reason for the environmental crises: the fact that the planet cannot support 6.8 billion carnivorous humans, much less the extra 3 billion that will show up in the near future.

It is not about giving cows more space, it is about forgoing the use of cows altogether. It's about recognizing that all species contribute uniquely to the symphony of Life.
