Phares to MTV Lebanon: "Lebanese Americans support UN 1559 and want Hezbollah disarmed"

In an interview with MTV Lebanon (Murr TV) Congressional advisor Dr. Walid Phares, author of "The Coming Revolution: Struggle for Freedom in the Middle East" said the US supports the Syrian popular revolt and wishes Assad to leave power but knows the geopolitical situation in Syria is difficult as it involves Iran and Hezbollah. Regarding Lebanon, Dr. Phares said the Administration cannot support those spiritual and political leaders who endorse the brutal Assad regime. He added Lebanese Americans, who count at least five members of Congress and one cabinet member, want the implementation of UNSCR 1559 and disarming of Hezbollah, considered a terrorist organization by the US.
