Five St. Louis area residents recently got together to discuss immigration issues at Schlafly's Tap Room in downtown St. Louis. Here is what the group had to say about the media's portrayal of immigration issues.

The group includes: Jasha McQueen Gadberry, John Beidle, Rob Scharfenburg, Catherine Nolan and Tiffany Sonnier.

This video is part of KETC's Homeland project, a year long look at the complicated issue of immigration in America. Visit us at http://www.explorehomeland.org

  • Sooo, I really like the idea of community discussion about immigration except for one thing.... there are no immigrants in your discussion. Your lacking the perspective of the people who are most affected by Immigration policy. Also, by having a "community discussion" about immigration but excluding the immigrant you're saying that immigrants aren't apart of your community and you take the voice from an already silenced group.

Just some ideas for next time.
