Smoky 81 300D N/A 617

Car constantly smokes at idle.

New injectors, valve adjustment good, good compression, runs great at speed.

What could it be? Car also idles kind of rough.

hi,if the differents points following are ok, pression injecteurs, valves cycling,compression....this smoke coulde be from 2 points ,the timing then its smoke blue all the time at different speed of turns o bad gazoline fuel whith a coeficient of water important in your tank o a little coolant eat by your engine,in several case nonturbo engines does not smoke ive a 617 whith a lot of kilometers its no smoking like that ,bur its look like a defect injector

What is the advence injection timing? A bad injection pump timing could be the cause of smoke. It's suposed to be 24° before TDC.

Maybe the injector pump itself? Have you checked the timing? Maybe a new rack dampener bolt could help your idling.. Just some ideas. Worst case could be possible head gasket.

Hmm...maybe water/coolant is getting into the cylinders somehow. Have you ever poured cold water into the coolant reservoir when the engine was HOT? If so, it might have made small cracks in the block allowing coolant to burn in the engine. White smoke may indicate water in the cylinders. Have you ever figured this out!?

Interesting video. There's something definitely wrong there. Video quality is not in question here because you got your point across. But had this been a video journalism course assignment, you would have been issued a low grade due to your sporadic angle changes. LOL
