In samenwerking met Vrienden van de Olifant wordt de peetouders een blik achter de schermen getoond. Een team van veldcoördinator, fotografe en filmmaker trok van 07 t/m 15 mei 2009 met de olifanten door de Keniaanse bush. De opvang van de David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Ithumba en Voi waren decor voor een aandoenlijke film over hoe de weesjes opgroeien naar volwassenheid in vrijheid. Getoond wordt onder meer de interactie tussen de olifantjes en het opnameteam, de verschillende karakters van de weesjes, hoe Wendi kennismaakt met de crew en hoe anderen het filmen voortdurend vrijwel onmogelijk maakt door steeds weg te lopen of juist door zich erg aanhankelijk te tonen. We maken ook kennis met wilde bezoekers uit de bush die onverwacht de filmset verstoren. Al tijdens de opnamen is het druk met de administratie, geholpen door deskundige verzorgers. De verzorgers die het team beschermen tussen het grof geweld. Terwijl de weesolifantjes steeds centraal staan, wordt aandacht gegeven aan de omgeving waarin de weesjes straks weer deel van uit gaan maken. In een natuur waarin - met onze hulp - voor vele generaties een thuis is voor harmonie tussen mens en dier.

In co-operation with Friends of the Elephant foster parents are allowed a look behind the screens. A team of field co-ordinator, photographer and filmmaker joins the elephants through the Kenian bush from 07 upto and including May 15,2009. The shelter of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
in Nairobi, Ithumba and Voi were the set for a touching film about how the orphans grow to adults in freedom. Shown is the interaction between the elephants and the film team, the different characters of the orphans, how Wendi meets the crew and how others making it sheer impossible to film
them by running away or by contrast show their affection. We meet other wildlife in the bush, which unexpectedly disturb the film set. Already during the shooting there is a lot of administration to do, assisted by the expert knowledge of the keepers. The keepers, who protect the team between violent forces. Whilst the orphans are focussed on, attention was paid to the surroundings where the orphans will become part of. In nature where with our help many generations will find a home in harmony between human and animal.
