Some people like socialism, some don't. I just don't think it's fair to ask a primarily capitalist economy to change to a socialist one. If socialism is what you want there are plenty of countries that you can choose from. On the other hand, people who wish to leave socialist societies should have a capitalist country to move to. And they have. By the millions. So all you socialist should quit whining and put your money where your mouth is and leave. The rest of us will do just fine without you.

@ruairidh64 Norway isn't rich due to socialism, it's rich due to oil. Qatar is richer due to same reason. Bangladesh is a socialist country. It's constitution guarantees health care (though no one gets it). Cuba, N. Korea are socialist. W. Germany and Soviet Union used to be socialist. India and China used to be socialist, but now they are mixed-market (and we can see the difference). The world has seen the result of socialism. Have a "wee look" at that evidence.

Why don't you have a wee look at the evidence before you start ranting about how rubbish socialism is. Take Norway for example, a socialist country whose people are almost $10,000 (World Bank GDP per capita 2010 Norway $56,894, USA $47,184) dollars a year richer than the average American, despite having only a tiny percentage of the usable land and natural resources that America has available.
