I LOVE the harmonies these guys produce. Yes, it's a shame they didn't get the chance to really make it big. How many groups do you hear these days that can harmonise like that???

I mean.. Savage Garden is Australian and they were huge here in the USA, which is cool because SG rules. I just don't get why these guys didn't catch on. I remember this song debuted while I was in highschool and me and all my buddies loved it. Even bought the album. What a shame..

Each day when the crowds entered Homebush Stadium to watch the Sydney 2000 Olympics, "Get Set" was the song that blasted across the venue. It became the anthem for those of us who were fortunate enough to see the Olympics. Our American guests loved Australia, the Games, HG & Roy, and the guys that performed that song. Embrace the music regardless of origin, and give kudos to the creators. Critics are merely detractors to the people that create what they can't. You contribute bugger all.

The producer I worked with on my two albums kindly brought Tim Wild in to do some backing vocals on some of my songs - man he can pull good harmonies. This song is an exemplary example.

@pricean they were signed to warner, at the time warner also signed sophie monk! apparently the guys running this sub label of warner in australia put all their money behind sophie, sent her all over the world paying for her to work with all star producers for mountains of cash...apparently all their cash! they crashed the label, warner cut them off, now their an independent label who've lost all their major signings, like taxi ride and my mate bec carunana :P
