  • Why are there two F40's?

  • One for each car. Better safe than sorry they always say.

  • Looks more like Readville Interlocking due to the railbridge down in the background

  • Thanks. You are right. That is Readville. I revisited that place a couple months ago.

  • Nice horn salute and engineer!!!!

  • The engineers are great.

  • Wow. He was doing 90-100 mph!!! :)

  • I was there when the Acelas broke down and they replaced them with regionals amfleets. I got on a regional and a acela(substitute) pulled in after and we yoyoed to nY.

  • thanks for the information, but i watched it for 20 years too, i know what they did. Im upset thats gone too and im trying to replicate it on a display and put it on youtube.

  • @techphy100 With a short train leaving from Boston it normally met up with a train in New Haven from Springfield. At New Haven the Springfield train (normally arriving first) would perform an engine switch from diesel to electric power (normally F40 to AEM7) The AEM7 would go on the front of the Springfield shuttle cars and the engine and the two cars would be put onto the front of the Boston train when it arrived at New Haven. Very fun process to watch as a kid, those days are now gone in NHV

  • It could be deadheading to New Haven to bring back a larger train.

  • Man , i remember the old Amtrak Engines , god i miss then :((
