for higher points I use Prophetess lvl 4 Lore of life with Prayer Icon AND Crown of Command in a unit of 49 Men at arms, now they ALL have ward saves plus all are STUBBORN. How can you beat that? Cheap 5 point men at arms now in horde formation guarding your flank, the battle pilgrims can guard the other. But usually ALWAYS take the Fey Enchantress w/ Life lore, nothing like starting the game with the blessing, no kneeling.
8th ed I run 49 men at arms with damsel w/ prayer icon, cheap horde with halberds so str. 4 attacks plus now you have the Blessing. 30 battle pilgrims stubborn, blessing, hatred, built in musician and S.B. worth the 334 points. Put the BSB with grail knights, harder to challenge Pally when the whole unit is filled with champions. Lord/pegasus with virtue of heroism and Sirienne's locket. Lastly, no guessing...Trebuchet!
(i am a 40k space marine player for 20 years) I started brets this summer...but paint them all pure white with golden grail on white logo...so I don't let mine have their own heraldry...but a wanted a very anti-chaos army! I love the codex myths of the lady of the lake and holy grail etc...
Virtue of Ideal is one of the worst virtues on the list. It looks attractive but it's benefit really isn't all that great, unless you were to stick it on a Paladin/Pegasus and seek out enemy heroes.
The best virtues to look into, Noble Disdain, Duty, and Discipline
Good advice but pegasai are monstrous, you can't put heroes or lords in units of them, as per the warhammer rule book. They are flying cavalry and count as skirmishing, i love em...but they have limitations, that being one of them.
