I Go To Pieces was a big hit for Peter and Gordon in the US in February 1965. The song was written by the great Del Shannon. This is my version.

  • Roy,

You've got to stop REFRESHING these great OLDIES. I keep trying to do

serious work on my computer while I listen to your performances...and then

D***IT, I have to STOP and send you off my comments on how good this

cover is. Good did I say good...I meant GREAT!!

I loved this one so much that I checked out YT's suggestions and discovered

a great 2005 live P&G performance that just knocked me out.

    Sadly Gordon died in 2009.

    Keep these memories coming,

    Joe

    Hey Joe

Thanks. Sadly the singers of the 60's are gettng to the age where they are more likely to die. it's hard to believe sometimes and very sad.

    Cheers

    Thankyou Gloria

It's a lovely song that Del Shannon wrote and although I like his versions best I still think Pete and Gordon did well with it. I expect Del was happy with the royalties that he received from P&G's success. I just wish that I could have talked to Del before he took his life. He was on the point of joining The Treavellin Wilburys and the album he was making was FANTASTIC. I think his career could have taken off again.

I agree it's Del's song but Peter And Gordon did a nice job, and you did also. Del's second recording must sound awesome! I was listening to Del last night...I miss him...I wish he was still with us. I found out recently that Neil Sedaka did a remake of one of his songs and it sounds like a blues version...I liked it. I thought I had saved it but just looked at my playlist and didn't find it.

    Thankyou Monica

To me this Del's song and it's his version I have listened to over the years. I have the original version by him and then he re-recorded it on his last studio album and knocked it out the ball park
