Short video from the amazing Paper Lantern Museum in Yamaga, Kumamoto, Japan. There were paper models of nearly all the major historical sites in southern Japan including the Golden Palace in Kyoto, Kumamoto Castle, and even the Yachiyo Theater which, coincidentally, is located only 5 minutes away from the museum.
The main focus of the museum, however, is the beautiful paper lanterns worn in the Yamagata Lantern Festival.

  • Isn't that 2? Haha well I would but I want to make them and it would be pretty hard to make authentic looking ones. I wonder if there is some origami way...

  • I love your videos!

Those paper models are so pretty.

  • Yeah, I hope to study abroad in Japan in the near future. Would definitely love to see stuff similar to what you're showing. It's hard to believe all of those things in the museum are made out of paper.

  • Thanks dude. Loved the pulp fiction ref but forgot to reply to the comment. Keep it up with your vids too. I suck at commenting, but I really find your vids worth while.
