John McCain Lying About Oil Spills During Hurricanes

John McCain during his town hall meeting on July 15, 2008 in Albuquerque, New Mexico saying that the oil spills off the shore of LA and TX "didn't cause any real difficulties". That is not true. There were massive oil spills during those storms and 124 pipelines broke.

I'm not sure how many oil rigs it destroyed, but it broke 124 pipelines. My question is why weren't they forced to drain those lines when they knew the storms were coming so the spills would not happen? I think there are some bigger questions to be answered if they want to tout offshore drilling and its safety.

People would have a different perception of "right now" if they knew that the ships to begin exploration are at least five years out. Petrobras made huge discoveries last year off Brazil, and has barely begun to explore because the hardware is simply not available. People are also being misled by the McBush Bros about the leases Big Oil is sitting on while the Big White Oil House tries to leverage leases in protected areas.

Obama is for offshore drilling, that is also a lie by McCain. but he dose not want to go into the places that are environmentally sensitive. Big Oil has over 30 million acres of land off shore right now they can drill on and don't, why. Also the GOP killed the DRILL bill that would have make it so the they would need to look for oil on the 62 million acres and any oil they found there would had to stay in the USA. but they killed it, why? it was a good bill and would helped.
