What a fantastic tutorial - really easy to follow, thank you! Plus, watching you is sort of mesmerizing. :-)

First comment, for real? I've looked at several videos of crocheting flowers because this is the first time I've held a crochet hook and I needed to know the basics! Those videos showed me the stitches you've mentioned, so by the time I got to this very nicely filmed tutorial, I could follow along closely. And ohmygosh!! My first COMPLETED crocheted flower! It took a couple tries but it's beautiful and I'm so proud of it! Thanks for this tutorial, it was great and well explained!

@jaffaone OMG I know! Way tooo fast too see!

The camera is too far off - can't see the moves very well and slightly too fast going for a starter.

Love the video. But the unreal smile in the beginning and in the end annoys me.

you should make a video on like little animals :) btw i love how your just casually crocheting like nothing at the beginning lol

I finally figured out why it didn't look the same! after I read the written instructions on the site, I realized that you are supposed to work into the spaces not the chains. I also made five out of string, and I think that I'm gonna use them for a hairclip or something like that. thanks again for a great pattern.

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I tried looking everywhere for how to make a flower for beginners, but this was the only one that actually helped.
May I ask what size hook and what brand of yarn you using.

@craftymama2007 I used a size J hook and Vanna's Choice yarn. Hope that helps!

@mexicoforever1000 Thank you! I'm hoping to make more in the future. Any requests for things besides flowers?

My finished product doesn't look exactly the same, but I like it anyway. Can you do this with string too?

@blackdiamondstar Yes! You should be able to make this flower with any sized yarn or sting. Using some delicate thread and a smaller needle would make a cute flower you could attach on a headband or use as a pin. I'm glad you liked the pattern - let me know if you make anything with it!
