Marty Hawkins 2009 USAC Oval Nationals Sprint Car Flip at Perris Auto Speedway

16 year old Marty Hawkins returns to Perris Auto Speedway for the 2009 Budweiser Oval Nationals. This was his second trip to the SoCal half mile and on the second night Marty bends it in a bit too hard and goes for a ride in qualifying. After about 20 minutes in the pits, Dad and Uncle Ty had the car repaired and Marty eagerly got back out on the track to redeem himself. Marty got 4 nights of much needed track time and when it was all said and done, he and the team learned a lot. The fans were great, the track was great, the competitors were great.......and the racing was off the hook!
