2009 Special Performance at the 2009 Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic

I was asked to put together a piece to this song by the founder of the Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic. About a month before we were asked, we had found out that one of my dancer's (who is in this video) mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, so I had to make this really special. These group of ladies are so close, and it was a hard performance to get through. This part of the day was called the "Survivor's Ceremony" where breast cancer survivors were introduced and applauded. During this dance, they were sitting about 15 feet in front of the "stage."
We received a standing ovation, which is an amazing feeling, especially because the girls put their heart and soul into their performance.
I was taping it, and pretty much started balling my eyes out, which is why it gets really shaky and hard to see...sorry about that :)
This event raised $109,000 to go to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation!!!

@quinnlazenbyballet10 This is at a benefit. For breast cancer. We put it together in 2 practices. It was very hard for the girls. The one girl's mother was just diagnosed with breast cancer before this event, so don't be ignorant and have a heart.

This is what dance is all about!!!! I know there are people out there that are so wrapped up in the technical side of it. But when all that's stripped away what really matters is the EMOTIONS - joy, hope, anger, frustration, saddness . . . that's what this dance did!!! Great Job! I loved it and put it as one of my favorites!
