China will not send athletes to compete in Men's Straightsword/Spear, Women's Broadsword/Staff,..........

its just individual routines. the moves are not made up by the athletes. the athletes obviously have formal taiji training. they just take moves from the chen, yang, sun, wu, etc. styles and choreograph their own competition routines. its still taiji.

orihx3's comment below is correct. As for the comment: "Taichi with flying kicks," taiji has flying kicks-yes-Chen Taiji. Everything this performer is doing is authentic regarding moves. There are at least five styles. American practitioners are sometimes limtited in exposure and don't recognize what they see. Having said that--without the thirteen principles, there is no real taiji--only performance--which I can and do still appreciate.

Wushu has branched out into many disciplines now. There's contemporary freestyle, compulsory routines, traditional and so on. And even among these there are various styles and levels of Wushu disciplines. So if you're not prepared to accept variations such as freestyle taichi then I suggest you at least have the decency to keep quiet.

Its COMPETITION Taiji. It still requires formal taiji training. Its not something you jst make up. Beleive me...it is alot harder then some of you haters here think.
