Finland really is a beautiful country and no wonder why Russia wanted it.

Ambivalence reigns where certainty fails. Hungary's Regent has yet to be fully displayed as villain or hero; Finland's Winter Warriors should be given the same deference. None have shown the Soviets guilty of extirpating an entire people; the Holodomar, while terrible, did not deplete Europe of Ukrainians in the manner that Hitler's Holocaust emptied the place of Jews.

Thanks to ALL who contributed so that Finland won the wars against USSR, both the winter war and contiuation war (WW2) - won in the sense that we kept our independence, earned in the WW1 war of 1917, and struggled for ever since. Als thanks to all who helped us out in any way.

It was the Soviets who started the continuation war. Hitler had publicly said after the start of operation Barbarossa, that the front would be from Arctic to Black Sea, so Soviets interpreted it as if the Finns had declared a war on USSR. The first shots were fired by Russians, not Finns.

Getting Karelia back is pretty unrealistic, but that doesn't mean that some people still don't have a longing to get back to their ancestral homes.

Finland had an seperate war against soviet, germand and finland didn´t have any alliance, but finland bought weapons from german so they cud defend themself, and finland needed to get the germans out from the country becouse they burned houses and villages in the north.

Read more about it or listen from some one who was in thw winter war before you say anything.

Anton, wasnt it part of peace treaty between Finland and Soviet Union that Finland has to get rid of Germans from Lapland? So we may betrayed Germans, but it was you who forced us to do it?
