@oran6es ok, ill use my own analogy. take an apple, cut out a seed, and put it on a table. by your logic, that seed is, right now, at this very moment, an apple tree. no, it "could" be an apple tree, if it were in the correct environment, with the right conditions. like how an embryo could, eventually, become a human being. i honestly dont get how people could be against something that could heal so many people. and, off topic, is cord blood ok to take? or is that "harvesting body parts?"

@ThePlayking57 Stupid analogy. By your( Sammy Harris') number of cells thesis, an infant is 1/10 the human as an adult: DUMB. An embryo, a child, and an adult are different stages of a living human's existence. That's a biological fact. Suffering? You must therefore favor the harvesting of a comatose person who'll be awake in a few months.

@ThePlayking57 You've regurgitated Sam Harris ver batem. Unfortunately you AND he are TOTALLY biologically INACCURATE. An embryo is an ACTUAL developing human, not a potential human. It's a potential child, a potential adult, but an ACTUAL developing human. Skin cells from the nose? WRONG AGAIN. Superficial epithelial cells are dead an non-nucleated: they CANNOT be cloned.

@oran6es not leftover, its not a hamburger. potential. and if its a “potential” human being, then you have problems. every cell in your body, thanks to science, under the right conditions, is a potential human. so every time you scratch your nose, you are committing a holocaust. and animal research is, under circumstances, ok, like if rats are giving a disease, and there is an overpopulation of rats, then you should be able to test on rats.

there are 150 cells in a 3 day old human embryo, and none of those are nerve or brain cells. That may sound like a lot, but there are 100,000 cells in the brain of a fly, which DOES have a nervous system. so if this is about suffering, you should be far more concerned about killing flies.

and the “soul” part, if a embryo slits into twins at this point, is that soul splitting, so its only half a soul? and when 2 embryos fuse together into a chimera, what happens to that other soul? this “soul math” does not make sense.
