an operbathos video

The legend of Magister Leoninus has been brought to us today by a monk who could have come from the Bury St. Edmunds. This monk has been attributed the name of Anonymous IV. Anonymous IV has been able to give us an account of two of the most important composers of 11th anbd 12 th centuries: Magister Leoninus and Perotinus. Perotinus was fortunate to be given Magister Leoninus's the great book "Organum". Unfortunately this important document has not survived in it's original state. Perotinus and following contempories were involved in the development and alternation of this repertory.
Polyphonic and settings of plainsong. Within the main sections of the settings of the phonophony and plainsong, are settings for both solo and choral chant. It consists of the Respond of polyphony followed by the section of chant. The same is followed by verse. Alternating patterns emerge and in it's simple state, this music: phonophony and plainsong, is not only simply stunning, but captivating and hypnotic.

  • Hallo! The ambient in the first image is the cripta dei Martiri from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria, in the city of Cagliari, Italy, island of Sardinia.

I recognized the ambient because Cagliari is my town. Maybe, have you ever been in Cagliari?

Beautiful music and nice video. Thanks!
