Mazdaspeed Miata Downhill (Complete View)

Filmed back in 2006 during my younger, brave days. Don't get any bright ideas. I can't stop you from doing stuff like this, but at least use common sense, make sure the road is clear and keep it your side of the double-yellow line. Also, go to the track and get proper control car control training before you hurt someone or yourself.

In short, it's an old chase video, but this time, it's from a never-before-seen angle: from my MSM. However, I apologize in advance about the commenting. I was thrilled, yet frustrated at the same time with the drive; weird problems with the fuel pump and me feeding up off my passenger enthusiasm during the drive and made me act out of my element. Heck, fun is fun though.

About the delay in getting this old clip up:

It took me so long to get this footage out because I had to repair my mini-DV cameras circuitry and then remove the tape that was inside before doing anything. So finally, you can view my drive as it was originally intended. The footage of the original chase footage was by gyrenejoe. Here's a link to the original clip.

I posted a comment on one of your other videos, I used to do this stuff too in a non turbo NB.

The reality of this is there is nothing controlled and safe about this. When it comes down to it YOU HAVE NO IDEA where cars will be. You can't predict anything even if you check the road 10 times over.

Good you have videos of you at the track, after knowing people who have been hit and hurt bad by people who run 2 lanes, this is only stupidity no matter how skilled you are. Unles the road is shut.

Despite the posting date, this has been an old act long foregone. It's all well and good that you are preaching to the choir, but I guess you and many others can't help it since I don't mention that explicitly. If anything now, I spend most of my time tracking and getting people to get to the tracks/auto-x.

I was hoping that my responses to comments on this video would be clear about my stance on this kind of driving, but I guess it isn't clear enough. I should leave a disclaimer about that.

fantastic driving. i'm not going to preach because i do this stuff too - mostly 1 lane though because my road is closer to civilization. i'm jealous you found a stretch of paradise. how did you do your timing? was it passenger with a stopwatch or was it something else? thanks for the video it was a pleasure.

Watched the chase view most of the time. Almost looks like you're a bit wobbly coming out of some of the corners. Pretty spectacular driving all the same.

I would post a drawn out comment about how unsafe this is, but people talking on a phone while drinking their latte in traffic is unsafe, too. If you're out in the middle of nowhere, and you know what you're doing, then by all means go for it.

I would also ask where this is, but I know better. Don't give out locations on YouTube.
