This is my 1962 Evinrude Lightwin and this is the only OMC engine that ever caused me such headaches i actually wanted to throw it in the lake. Normally Lightwins are the easiest and one of the most dependable motors out there, but this one I could never get it to run right. This one had the habit of dropping a cylinder and only after replacing everything including the flywheel and the mag plate were we ever able to keep it running on both jugs. The other problem was we couldn't get it to idle as slow as it should and even though it had great compression, and we replaced everything under the son including the carb. it never ran to it's full potential.
