@karma342 Did Doris ever do this number with the sky pilots?

It was a glorious experience to hear this song. They were the first people that I ever heard sing GOSPEL music. I was still in high school. It impressed my friends and I so much that we formed a group of our own. I am now 73 years old but I will never forget this truly talented group.

This song was inspired by a radio sermon of Clarence H. Cobbs of Chicago, the pastor of the First Church of Deliverance, as per the dedication on the sheet music itself.

Dorothy sings beautifully in this song, as always! "But that was before I found Christ
Now I know what my end will be."
This part means alot to me, it's absolutely true, and I'm very happy that you posted this precious song. (:

Ok I'm not sure what happened to my first comments lol but I really like this...singing is good but the lyrics have to mean something and this song combines both...love the soprano.
My expectation is to make Heaven my home. I love it! This song gives you a purpose for life. I'm so glad that I ran across the Simmons-Akers Singers on You-Tube and thanks for posting this great group.

You're very welcome :) I'm glad that you enjoyed what you've heard from the group so far, they were very talented/anointed singers and Doris composed the vast majority of the songs they performed ;) if you would like to learn a bit more about them, please check out the Doris Akers article on wikipedia :) oh and keep looking around my channel, you'll find a lot more stuff by them and Doris. God bless you and thanks again!!

Yea, Dorothy Simmons, co-founder of the group with Doris, could REALLY sing! She did most of the lead singing in the group. She was awesome! Thx for your comment, Timothy :)
