Can you imagine how different your life would be if you were born deaf-blind? The world is a confusing and complicated place for someone deaf-blind. You wouldn't know what your parents or siblings looked like. You wouldn't know colors. You wouldn't be able to see a flower garden in full bloom. You certainly wouldn't be able to ride a horse. Or could you? Because of Julie's blindness, she relies on touch for identification of things around her so we surround Julie with as many hands-on experiences as we can. Julie is much more aware of her surroundings and utilizes her senses better than we do. It's sad to say but we take our vision and hearing for granted. We could all learn a lesson from Julie!
