Simplex 2901-9002 "Vid"

OK, as you can see, this isn't a "live" video, but I felt like doing this. I recorded a number of alarms today using my 4263-10 pull station, and this was one of them. All this "video" is is the audio of the recording, and the picture of the alarm from my site.

P.S., sorry for the somewhat-bad audio. That's NOT how the origional sound file came out.

Shouldn't that bell be ringing constantly? It only dings every so often, but I can hear a grinding noise, so I assume the thing that drives the hammer is working, but the hammer isn't making good contact with the bell, perhaps the bell needs to e adjusted?

That granding noise you hear is the sound of the gears in the coded pull station. The bell works as it should, as it's single-stroke - it's supposed to ding only once when current is applied to the bell. The pull station creates a mechanical relay coupled with the code the pull station does (4-2-1), and that's what the bell clacks out.
