Political analyst Newt Gingrich spells doom for a Republican Party that moves away from Conservative ideals and American values. This interview is from Fox News (edited for brevity):

"For me, personally, I would support John McCain compared to either of the Democrats because, um, the Supreme Court and a whole range of issues, I think he's dramatically better for America."

"I disagree with Senator McCain on taxes. I disagree with him on amnesty. I disagree with him on McCain-Feingold, which I think is un-Constitutional. But, on the other hand, if you get down to a choice this fall, and your choice is Senator Obama, who is called the most Liberal member of the Senate by National Journal, or Senator Clinton, who's machine, I think, has fundamental challenges to the way we [America] operate, I don't think there's much choice for the average Conservative."

"I don't think anybody on his [McCain's] team understands the Conservative movement. So I don't think they have any idea what the underlying pattern is. They don't like the Conservative movement. They didn't hang-out with it. They're offended by it. I don't think you can go to the center in this country and try to be sort of a, a, an almost-liberal and win an election. I think that turns off so many people that they just stay home. And I think it's very important to realize, there were over 14-million Democrat votes in Super-tuesday. There were about 8-million Republican votes."

"Now, just think about this. There's an underlying, there's an underlying message here. If we don't break out of business as usual in the next five or six months, we'll simply lose."

  • John McCain = honesty, a winning strategy in Iraq, a better economy, less debt, and a brighter future. Getting rid of Mexicans and protectionism will hurt the economy far more than help it. McCain has no desire to start another war, he just wants to win this one.

  • One candidate:

    * voted against the Bush tax cuts. Both times.

    * pushed more restrictions on gun-owners' rights.

    * joined Ted Kennedy to sponsor amnesty for illegals.

    * was mentioned as a running-mate for John Kerry.

Can't guess the cadidate who is surprisingly Liberal? Find the answer here - search for "surprisingly liberal".

  • So, guilty with an expanation. ;)

  • @NoRepublicanWimps There is a website I used called VoteSmart (dot) org* where you can look up their voting records, find out what organizations they support, groups they are a part of, bills they've written, etc. We have to get people looking that stuff up! One thing about too many republicans is that they do not do their research. Those that DO are called "right wing extremists" lol

  • The country is shifting to the stop the stipud spending and get off the homosexual to marry and also abortion is going to be shut down totally.

    It's come, so get ready.

  • Newt really can't talk about this very convincingly anymore since he supported an extreme left nut in New York over a conservative. He also has some touchy feely views of his own. Not a true conservative.

  • conspiracy theorist

  • There are no conservative values for the Republicans to stray from. American values is such a vague label that it is essentially meaningless.

  • newt u fucked up when u picked a liberal over the conservative u missed the whole bus

  • Oh Newt... even Specter left you.

    Conservative radicalism = Havoc

  • You say you supported McCain for his experience, and that Obama is all words, and no substance. The only substance the entire GOP party has is shit. When the racists across this nation joined them, they were doomed. Now GOP carries them with them everywhere they go like it or not. It's like a shit filled tote bag or something. Have you ever seen an elephant eat itself before? One bite at a time guys, we wouldn't want you to choke, or maybe..........

  • Liberal/Progressive Republicanism is way better than Conservative Republicanism. Its what Lincoln used right? McCain is a neo-conservative, there is a difference. He's not a liberal republican either. Until a Lincoln-like president gets in, I'll be waiting right here. Thats going to be a long time, so I guess I'll need to just run myself eh? Cause Republicans are just biting the hands they feed/ are fed, evidence is found with the racial/cultural demographics. Southern stratgey ruined the GOP

  • McCain is a conservative like Olbermann is an unbiased journalist. Hate to say it, but it's just the old pig-and-lipstick thing.

Obama rode in on the magic carpet of unbelievable leftwing media bias, insane Bush-hating fanatism, black racism, big money from Saudi's and Soros, and just general ignorance of the voters themselves....Even against all of those factors, Republicans could have won if only a REAL-strong conservative figure had risen up. Unfortunately for America, Obama is it. Pray!
