You should not do that in your kitchen, you could contaminate food and such.
-
is it also instable when it's frozen?
-
you can also stabilize it in heptane. it evaporates faster that way.
-
NI3 IS dangerous ^^ thats why its so funny to play around with q: btw was that normal paper or filter paper you let it dry on?
-
If it didnt undissolve in 45 hours, nope.
Wasnt much left of it in my pyrotechnics shed, I kinda made it so that it would blw up instead of my house =P
-
You added enough ammonia for it perhaps, but were they necessarily dissolved? Redissolving the stuff isn't easy given how reactive it is. Sure nothing precipitated when you did the reaction?
-
No crystals, I had enough amonia to disolve all the crystals, and then I added an extra 2 liters... =P
Still selfignited.
-
It has to be aqueous and in solution with ammonia for it to be stable. If any crystals are present, you risk having it explode.
-
Well, it's vapors are purple. Maybe that's what you were noticing?
-
Yeah i know now....... weird though, i thought it was purple...
