The F-117 Nighthawk seen flying once again in the Nellis ranges. Im not saying where it was spotted, but it was in public land, and not in any of our previous range video location such as Coyote or Cedar.

We first arrived at this location at around 730AM and saw something in the distance flying away from us, it banked slightly and appeared to be an F-117. We were so excited and shocked to have seen what we just saw! But we were also bummed that we didn't get it on camera. So we started traveling up the road a bit more till we reached a dead end, we walked around a bit still in shock and didn't really know if what we saw was really it. Suddenly, I look over towards the mountains and lucky enough, it was coming back, this time towards us and lower too! Immediately we grab our camera's and fire away. I go on and say the date and year to give it some credit, so believe what you want. Yes they are retired, but that doesn't mean they still can't be flying.

This was shot during the Nellis Red Flag exercise in July but not while one was in progress, in the morning around 8. The call sign I recall hearing started with an S but I couldn't really hear.

  • @Megalodon64

I'm sure nobody in the air force gets that reference at all XD

  • So which tail number was this? \:) Eh? Come on, you can tell us.

  • The F-117 was an epic fighter. Until it took a missle to the wing

  • ... Oh and it's shape that helped its stealth, hindered its manouverability and speed, it was just a small bomber that couldn't defend itself

  • So far as I was aware most of these were scrapped due to their lack of air to air capabilities, it was originally built with just a ground targeting system, at the time an air to air radar would have given it away to anyone watching, stealth was in its infancy too. Fantastic plane, but as either a bomber, fighter or both, it got muscled out by the b2 and f22.

  • @Rijelthelovefool Correction 10 hours for the navy

  • @fungusuarus Yes, dont believe it when the government says they "scrap" aircraft, you know almost all our bombers can be fully operational in 15 hours?, we also have 2600 fighters, incase of war, apparently all of the navy aircraft can be operational in 5 hours, All this just incase china, Iran or north korea attack, I also heard we have 35 B-2's fully operational, but the government say 21 lol, i dont know where they keep them but lol..let's see iran attack us now...
