Anyone who doubts a public option for health care should watch this video. It contains different clips of other countries' health care systems and compares them with our (the U.S.) health care system . As a side note (not mentioned in this video), Canada spends half a billion dollars annually treating U.S. citizens who illegally seek treatment there because they cannot afford treatment in the U.S. LINKS ARE PROVIDED BELOW .
Who would design an health insurance system where the insurers can get away with collecting premiums from healthy people whilst being allowed to weed out or differentially price coverage for sick people? That would lead me think that the politicians have been in the pocket of the insurance companies. ...oh er.. maybe...
@screwedbysears im german. i pay 58€ a month plus 7,95€ (pays any extra cost for teeth) plus 10€ per visit, per quarter. the only extra cost i ever had was ~200€ for vaxination against tropical infections.
@Mehtaphorical So a place where there is mass human sacrifice a place where volunteerism is in place? I'm sorry but you obviously did not read what I have said(how did I KNOW!!!) But you still don't get the market is not force, so your essentially comparing apples to apples when I'm talking about pears, and thus you have no idea what I am talking about. You obviously don't listen to anyone elses argument.
@Mehtaphorical What? What I'm describing was one of the most advance civilizations in the world, too bad the racists cover up the history, ever heard of the celtic civilization? All voluntary government, there was no forced taxation and it lasted thousands of years with little to no violence. And please United States before 1913 just proves your totally wrong. Want anarchy? Look at where government rules, and those third worlds have something called warlords old style government.
@wtfjaftw Please, what you're describing is an anarchic third world country. I've lived and one and no better than to believe in real anarchy, there's no such thing, in the absence of government with some basic principles you just get some other person filling the power vacuum and he's alot meaner and alot let civilized about. The nastiest and cruelest rise to the top. What you describe is the reality of gangland Teotihuacan Honduras, I'd rather live under your "socialism" than Mara Salvatrucha.
@Mehtaphorical Oh here's another one who runs his mouth without studying or listening. And thus you made mistakes in your argument and thus you're socialist. Socialism is force, thus your statement is invalid.
@wtfjaftw Yeah, and what happens when the bigger, badder gang that doesn't produce anything but puts all of it's resources into building an army comes to murder you, rape your family, and steal all of your stuff? You could pay protection money to a bigger gang, but you have little bargaining power and unlike now, if you become dissatisfied and want to stop using them, they can use violence on you. Brutal, unending war is what comes of this, or, if they stop competing, horrible oppression of you.
$500 a month?? bloody hell, I'm glad I'm English and not American.
