Ekonting like instrument. The player knows only one more player alive... (in his 90s)

Recorded Dec 2007 in G. Bissau. The Strings are tuned similar to ekonting BUT reverse to ekonting. Two techiniques: one with plectron one "hit" with the knuckle of index finger. this is just an upload test. i have an hour hdv recording (night shot... thats why it's greenish...) the last sequence is of a Diola in G. Bissau playing ekonting. He know many many songs. All recorded and transcrobed. but i have been too lazy to youtube... them. for more info: write to doremifa@gmx.ch ps: i think the guy is from the pepel people. the instrument i bought: it is in Switzerland now. he called it VIOLA but that means more like general like fiddle or guitar... hm..
