Collateral Damage: Atomic Testing in the Marshall Islands

Between 1946 and 1958, the U.S. detonated 67 nuclear devices in and around the Marshall Islands. The impact of these tests on the Marshallese people was profound - in terms of both actual radioactive exposure and the displacement of people from their home islands due to contamination and to accommodate the U.S. military.

I'm American and I hate the stupidity that our country does without caring for others. No wonder everyone hates us...Didn't the U.S. realize that the radiation wouldn't just effect the people on the islands but the radiation was going into the ocean where all the fish that we eat live.

Wow...I just came across this video due to surfing on Google Earth. I'm so sorry to hear that people suffered unnecessarily on behalf of my country. You can't say that its all Americans fault though,because those that run the country are small in number in comparison to the citizens that live here. I didn't even know about this until a few seconds ago myself.

when the nuclear fallout came from the vapourization of 2 islands, the fallout and ash fell like snow. the children were excited cuz they saw pix of snow before and began to play and make angels in the nuclear fallout. other big disasters were chyrnobyl in the ukraine when a nuclear power plant melted down. or union carbide in india which was a toxic gas leak, these disasters made alot of generations sick and killed many more all of which happened long ago and are still apparent problems today!
