She is rescued during a mugging outside her TV station studio by private investigator Jon Russell. She is intrigued by this encounter and pursues a relationship with the PI. Ex-hubby Herb Callison still holds a flame for Dorian, which complicates her relationship with Jon. While all this is happening, Cassie searches for her father, David Renaldi, who is a spy and hiding out in Austria.
