  • Correct me someone if I am wrong..

Old School Sweep is one of the 10th planet moves right (modified BJJ by Eddie Bravo)..right??

  • yes, that's right.

  • is it possible to roll backwards to escape the submission?

  • Good question! You can't escape a stocks by rolling backwards. Your best chance is popping your head free from under his armpit if he isn't leaning on you enough.

  • i admire your creativity. but there is no reason to lock your hands when performing ol skool sweep. instead those hands should be defending counters like this one.

  • looks like catch wrestling good move

  • @budoatemaildotcom The sweep predates 10PJJ.

  • haha i like how he taps

  • catch wrestling ftw.

A stocks sweep like this doesn't depend on whether the hands are locked or not. It just depends on whether your opponent's head is low. In fact your opponent's hands cannot be locked to get into the sweep position, you need to pry them apart first.

  • @mizdierbeatz Yeah, I noticed that, I never lock my hands like this and can't see any reason why someone would.

  • nice, thank you.

  • Good stuff! tks for sharing!

  • fo sho well said
